2000 Excavation Season Info.

The Raft Race

This year the excavation coincided with the famous Westray Regatta, the social event of the year. We entered the 'Daft Raft Race', and built ourselves a raft using whatever we could find, under the inspired leadership of Tom. After a few midnight test runs of varying success, we had something that could float, was fairly sturdy, and could even breathe fire. To our surprise we actually won! Tom's rumoured to be loosing sleep over next year's designs already.
