Iain Morley awarded prestigious Hunt Fellowship
Dr. Iain Morley has been awarded a Hunt Fellowship by the Wenner-Gren Foundation for the preparation of his book on The Prehistory of Music, to be published by Oxford University Press. He will continue to be based at the McDonald Institute, having completed work on the “Roots of Spirituality” project with Professor Colin Renfrew.
The final two books of the Roots of Spirituality project, “Becoming Human – Innovation in Prehistoric Material and Spiritual Culture” and “Measuring the World and Beyond - The Genesis of Quantification and Cosmology” are now in press with Cambridge University Press and will be published in 2009.
Dr. Morley will also continue to be involved with the Libyan Haua Fteah project, run from the McDonald Institute, analysing the lithics associated with the arrival of modern humans at the site.
