New Research Collaborations with China
The Director Professor Graeme Barker was invited to China over Christmas and the New Year, in part to give lectures on his research and in part to explore teaching, training, and research collaborations with Chinese colleagues. His visit was facilitated in particular by Professor Li Schuicheng of the Department of Archaeology and Museology, Peking University, Beijing (‘PKU’) in the context of growing research collaborations between McDonald Institute researchers (Professor Martin Jones, Dr Mim Bower, Dr Marsha Levine) and Chinese colleagues. At the end of his visit he signed formal collaboration agreements with the Department of Archaeology and Museology, PKU, and the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, designed to facilitate exchanges of staff and students, and the development of further collaborative research projects.
